How to Refer a Student for Counseling
We welcome referrals to support students who may benefit from additional counseling services. Referrals can be made by families, teachers, or staff.
Reasons a Referral May Be Helpful
A student may be referred for counseling support if they are experiencing:
• Big feelings such as worry, sadness, anger, or stress
• Difficulty with friendships or peer conflict
• Changes in behavior, mood, or school engagement
• Challenges with attendance, focus, or motivation
• Trouble adjusting to changes at home or school
How to Make a Referral
• Families: Contact the school counselor directly by email or phone, or request support through the school office.
• Staff: Complete the school counseling referral form and submit it to the counselor.
• Students: Students may ask their teacher or visit the counselor to request support.
Please note: School counseling services are short-term and school-based and focus on helping students be successful at school.
