Principal

My name is Miguelina Lopez, and I am truly honored and excited to serve as your new principal for the 2026–2027 school year.

I have proudly been part of the Hawthorne School District for the past 30 years. My journey began as an instructional aide, followed by roles as a classroom teacher, an English Learner Special Projects Teacher, a Teacher on Special Assignment, an assistant principal, and most recently, principal of Zela Davis Elementary School for the past four years.

I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University, Dominguez Hills. I am also the proud mother of two children, one in high school and one in college. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

I am excited to join the Kornblum community and look forward to partnering with you to help every student succeed. This year, we will offer engaging parent workshops, fun family events, and expanded student support services to strengthen our school community.

I look forward to meeting you and your children as we begin this exciting school year together. I am excited for a wonderful year filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections!
